In this context, transcription of c-FOS in resting neurons is inhibited by recruitment of phospho RB1-HDAC complex by SMARCA4\/BRG1. Alternatively, the CREST-BRG1 complex induces NR2B expression by binding to its promotor. In addition, SMARCA4\/BRG1 regulates the expression of the tumorigenic protein CD44.
