It is composed of a central coiled-coil region that is responsible for Golgi targeting, likely through interactions with small GTPases Rab6 and Arf5. GORAB is considered a member of the golgin family of coiled-coil Golgi proteins, which are involved in vesicle tethering. GORAB has been implicated in several cellular functions.
