It is a nucleocytoplasmic protein containing, within its aminoterminal half, a coiled-coil domain followed by two nuclear localization signals (NLSs) responsible for nuclear localization and, in its carboxyl-terminal half, a nuclear export signal(NES) that mediates cytoplasmic retention.
