Localized to both the nucleus and the cytoplasm, MIF4GD plays a role in the replication-dependent translation of histone mRNAs, which differ from most eukaryotic mRNAs in that they end with a stem-loop instead of a poly-A tail. Specifically, MIF4GD interacts with SLBP, eIF4G and DAP-5. Via its interaction with SLBP, MIF4GD is thought to be tethered to the stem loops of histone mRNAs where it may facilitate the circularizing of the mRNAs, thereby enhancing their translation. Depletion of MIF4GD results in reduced histone translation and may lead to cell death, suggesting that MIF4GD plays an important role in cell survival. Two isoforms of MIF4GD exist due to alternative splicing events.
Specification
Tested Reactivity: human, mouse
Host / Isotype: Rabbit / IgG
Class: Polyclonal
Type: Antibody
Immunogen: CatNo: Ag17931 Product name: Recombinant human MIF4GD protein Source: e coli. -derived, PGEX-4T Tag: GST Domain: 3-256 aa of BC033759 Sequence: EPSREEYKIQSFDAETQQLLKTALKVACFETEDGEYSVCQRSYSNCSRLMPSRCNTQYRDPGAVDLEKVANVIVDHSLQDCVFSKEAGRMCYAIIQAESKQAGQSVFRRGLLNRLQQEYQAREQLRARSLQGWVCYVTFICNIFDYLRVNNMPMMALVNPVYDCLFRLAQPDSLSKEEEVDCLVLQLHRVGEQLEKMNGQRMDELFVLIRDGFLLPTGLSSLAQLLLLEIIEFRAAGWKTTPAAHKYYYSEVSD Predict reactive species
Full Name: MIF4G domain containing
Calculated Molecular Weight: 256 aa, 29 kDa
Observed Molecular Weight: ~25 kDa
GenBank Accession Number: BC033759
Gene Symbol: MIF4GD
Gene ID (NCBI): 57409
Conjugate: Unconjugated
Form: Liquid
Purification Method: Antigen affinity purification
UNIPROT ID: A9UHW6
Storage Buffer: PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3.
Storage Conditions: Store at -20°C.
