It is expected to be located in the cytoplasm, which is expressed in renal tubules, pancreatic islets and hepatocytes with positivity in plasma. This protein belongs to the lipocalin family and is the specific carrier for retinol (vitamin A alcohol) in the blood. It delivers retinol from the liver stores to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin which prevents its loss by filtration through the kidney glomeruli. A deficiency of vitamin A blocks secretion of the binding protein post- translationally and results in defective delivery and supply to the epidermal cells. The molecular weight of RBP4 is 23 kDa.\n\u003cb\u003eSpecification\u003c\/b\u003e\nTested Reactivity: human\nHost \/ Isotype: Rabbit \/ IgG\nClass: Polyclonal\nType: Antibody\nImmunogen: CatNo: Eg31642 Product name: Recombinant Human RBP4 protein (Myc Tag, His Tag) Source: mammalian cells -derived, pHZ-KIsec Tag: Myc \u0026amp; 6*His Domain: 19-201 aa of BC020633 Sequence: ERDCRVSSFRVKENFDKARFSGTWYAMAKKDPEGLFLQDNIVAEFSVDETGQMSATAKGRVRLLNNWDVCADMVGTFTDTEDPAKFKMKYWGVASFLQKGNDDHWIVDTDYDTYAVQYSCRLLNLDGTCADSYSFVFSRDPNGLPPEAQKIVRQRQEELCLARQYRLIVHNGYCDGRSERNLL Predict reactive species\nFull Name: retinol binding protein 4, plasma\nCalculated Molecular Weight: 201 aa, 23 kDa\nObserved Molecular Weight: 23 kDa\nGenBank Accession Number: BC020633\nGene Symbol: RBP4\nGene ID (NCBI): 5950\nRRID: AB_3669688\nConjugate: Unconjugated\nForm: Liquid\nPurification Method: Antigen affinity purification\nUNIPROT ID: P02753\nStorage Buffer: PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3.\nStorage Conditions: Store at -20°C.
