Phospho-ErbB3\/HER3 (Tyr1197) is a phosphorylated form of the epidermal growth factor receptor 3 (EGFR3), also known as HER3. HER3 lacks tyrosine kinase activity itself, but becomes phosphorylated at tyrosine residues after forming heterodimers with other ErbB proteins such as HER2. The HER2\/HER3 dimer is a potent activator of growth signaling pathways including MAPK. This phosphorylation event is involved in signal transduction pathways related to cell growth, proliferation, and survival.
