Urocortin is a potent anorexigenic peptide that induces fed-like motor activity when administered centrally or peripherally in fasted animals. Urocortin is also a potent and long-lasting hypotensive agent and increases coronary blood flow. Urocortin acts in vitro to stimulate the secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and binds with high affinity to CRF receptor types 1, 2-alpha, and 2-beta. Urocortin is synthesized as precursor, which is subsequently processed to the mature biologically active peptide (a 40-amino acid Molecule ). The 22 kDa may be a urocortin 1 precursor protein (PMID: 28887029).
Specification
Tested Reactivity: human
Cited Reactivity: human
Host / Isotype: Rabbit / IgG
Class: Polyclonal
Type: Antibody
Immunogen: Peptide Predict reactive species
Full Name: urocortin
Calculated Molecular Weight: 13 kDa
Observed Molecular Weight: 22 kDa
GenBank Accession Number: NM_003353
Gene Symbol: UCN
Gene ID (NCBI): 7349
RRID: AB_10640909
Conjugate: Unconjugated
Form: Liquid
Purification Method: Antigen affinity purification
UNIPROT ID: P55089
Storage Buffer: PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3.
Storage Conditions: Store at -20°C.
