OSM signals via a receptor complex comprising gp130 and the OSMR (also called OSMRβ) (PMID: 8999038). OSMR is a single-pass membrane protein that belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. OSMR mRNA is expressed at relatively high levels in all neural cells and fibroblast, epithelial, and various tumor cell lines (PMID: 8999038). It has also been shown that OSMR associates with IL31RA to form the heterodimeric IL31 receptor (PMID: 15184896). OMSR  has a calculated molecular weight of 110 kDa, with an apparent molecular weight of 150-180 kDa (PMID: 8999038; 17028186; 39266541; 34644107).
