Description: Description 3-Amino-9-ethylcarbazole (AEC) is a substrate for peroxidase and is a widely-used chromogen for ELISPOT.
Preparation And Storage: Preparation And Storage Store undiluted at 4°C and protected from prolonged exposure to light. Do not freeze.
Recommended Assay Procedures: Recommended Assay Procedures No more than 15 minutes prior to use, mix one drop (20 µL) of AEC Chromogen with each 1 mL of AEC Substrate, vortex or mix. Discard any remaining prepared AEC Substrate after use. Warning: AEC Substrate (MN 51-2577KC) contains 7.99% methanol (w/w). Hazard statements Combustible liquid. Harmful if swallowed. May cause damage to organs. Precautionary statements Wear protective gloves / eye protection. Wear protective clothing. Avoid breathing mist/vapours/spray. IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTER/doctor if you feel unwell. Rinse mouth. IF exposed or concerned: Call a POISON CENTER/doctor. Store locked up. Dispose of contents/container to an appropriate treatment and disposal facility in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and product characteristics at time of disposal. Danger: AEC Chromogen (MN 51-2578KC) contains 97.8% N,N-dimethylformamide (w/w). Hazard statements Flammable liquid and vapour. Harmful if in contact with skin or inhaled. Causes serious eye irritation. May damage fertility or the unborn child. Precautionary statements Obtain special instructions before use. Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapors/spray. Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. - No smoking. In case of fire: Use suitable extinguishing media to extinguish Wear protective clothing / eye protection/ protective gloves. Wash thoroughly after handling. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do.  Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention. IF exposed or concerned: Get medical advice/attention Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations.
