APCDD1 has been reported to be directly regulated by the beta-catenin\/ITF-2 complex and that its elevated expression promotes the proliferation of colonic epithelial cells. It is thought to function as a developmental target of the beta-catenin pathway and may play an important role in colorectal tumorigenesis.
