Research studies have shown that transgenic mice overexpressing DEPTOR\/DEPDC6 have more white adipose tissue, and DEPTOR\/DEPDC6 expression levels increase in the white adipose tissue of obese humans (3). Furthermore, the expression of DEPTOR\/DEPDC6 is induced during mouse adipocyte differentiation (3).
