CD82 does not have enzymatic activity and appears to function by regulating the trafficking of other proteins and organization of the cell membrane (1). CD82 was originally described as a costimulator for T cells that directly associates with CD4 and CD8, and was subsequently identified during a screen as a metastasis suppressor in prostate cancer (2,3). CD82 has since been found to act as a metastasis suppressor in a variety of cancers, and its downregulation is associated with poor prognosis in research studies (4-6). CD82 suppresses metastasis through multiple mechanisms including inhibition of cell motility and invasion by modulating c-Met and the urokinase plasminogen activator surface receptor (uPAR), as well as promotion of homotypic cell-cell adhesion by stabilizing interactions between E-cadherin and β-catenin (7-9).\n\u003cb\u003eAlternate Names\u003c\/b\u003e\n4F9; C33; C33 antigen; CD82; CD82 antigen; CD82 antigen (R2 leukocyte antigen, antigen detected by monoclonal and antibody IA4)); CD82 molecule; GR15; IA4; Inducible membrane protein R2; KAI1; kangai 1 (suppression of tumorigenicity 6, prostate; Metastasis suppressor Kangai-1; R2; R2 leukocyte antigen; SAR2; ST6; suppression of tumorigenicity 6; Suppressor of tumorigenicity 6 protein; Tetraspanin-27; Tspan-27; TSPAN27\n\n\u003cb\u003eSpecification\u003c\/b\u003e\n\nREACTIVITY: H\nSENSITIVITY: Endogenous\nMW (kDa): 30-60\nSource\/Isotype: Rabbit IgG","brand":"CST","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46797572145321,"sku":"12439S","price":0.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/iright.com\/products\/cst-12439s","provider":"Iright","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
