Product Description
Polyclonal Antibody for studying TRPS1. Validated for Western Blotting. Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, TRPS1 Antibody (CST #17936) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information Western Blotting: 1:1000 Storage Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/ml BSA and 50% glycerol. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting Specificity / Sensitivity TRPS1 Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total TRPS1 protein. Species Reactivity: Human Source / Purification Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala39 of human TRPS1 protein. Antibodies are purified by peptide affinity chromatography. Background TRPS1 is a transcription factor that was initially discovered as being mutated in Tricho-rhino-phalangeal syndrome, a craniofacial and skeletal malformation syndrome (1,2). It was also found to be expressed at higher levels in androgen-dependent prostate cancers, reducing the expression of PSA (3,4). TRPS1 recognizes GATA sequences and represses the activation potential of other GATA factors (5). By repressing STAT3 expression, TRPS1 regulates chondrocyte proliferation and survival (6,7). TRPS1 also can increase the activity of HDAC1 and HDAC4 during mitosis to promote histone deacetylation (8). In addition, TRPS1 binds to the NuRD complex via CHD4 and can repress other key transcription factors such as p63 and estrogen receptor (9-11). Alternate Names GC79; LGCR; MGC134928; transcriptional repressor GATA binding 1; Tricho-rhino-phalangeal syndrome type I protein; trichorhinophalangeal syndrome I; TRPS1; Zinc finger protein GC79; Zinc finger transcription factor Trps1 Specification REACTIVITY: H SENSITIVITY: Endogenous MW (kDa): 160 SOURCE: Rabbit
