RNMT binds along with activating subunit RNMT-activating miniprotein (RAM), which is required for efficient methylation of the mRNA cap (5). In addition to the methyltransferase activity, RNMT-RAM has been shown to affect RNA pol II occupancy, and knockdown has been shown to reduce mRNA production (6,7).
