BAFF may also further oligomerize into 60-mer structures (1). BAFF is expressed by monocytes, neutrophils, macrophages, dendritic cells, activated T cells, and epithelial cells (1,2). BAFF plays a key role in B cell development, survival, and activation (1,3,4). BAFF binds to three distinct receptors, BAFF-R, TACI, and BCMA (1). These receptors are differentially expressed during B cell development and among B cell subsets (1,2,4). While BAFF-R and BCMA bind to the homotrimeric form of BAFF, TACI only binds to membrane bound or higher order BAFF structures (1). The BAFF\/ BAFF-R interaction activates both canonical and non-canonical NF-κB pathways, PI3K\/Akt, and mTOR (2,4). Activation of the noncanonical NF-κB pathway via BAFF-R is negatively regulated by TRAF3 (5). Research studies have shown that elevated levels of BAFF may exacerbate many autoimmune disorders, making it a potential therapeutic target (2).\n\u003cb\u003eAlternate Names\u003c\/b\u003e\nApoL related ligand TALL-1; B lymphocyte stimulator; B-cell activating factor; B-cell-activating factor; B-lymphocyte stimulator; BAFF; BLYS; CD257; delta BAFF; Delta4 BAFF; Dendritic cell-derived TNF-like molecule; DTL; epididymis secretory sperm binding protein; TALL-1; TALL1; THANK; TN13B; TNF and ApoL-related leukocyte expressed ligand 1; TNF homolog that activates apoptosis; TNF superfamily member 13b; TNF- and APOL-related leukocyte expressed ligand 1; TNFSF13B; TNFSF20; TNLG7A; tumor necrosis factor (ligand) superfamily, member 13b; tumor necrosis factor (ligand) superfamily, member 20; tumor necrosis factor ligand 7A; Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13B; Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13b, membrane form; Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13b, soluble form; tumor necrosis factor superfamily member 13b; tumor necrosis factor superfamily, member 13b; tumor necrosis factor-like protein ZTNF4; ZTNF4\n\n\u003cb\u003eSpecification\u003c\/b\u003e\n\nREACTIVITY: H\nSENSITIVITY: Endogenous\nMW (kDa): 17,29,31\nSource\/Isotype: Rabbit IgG","brand":"CST","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46797642858665,"sku":"19944S","price":0.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/iright.com\/products\/cst-19944s","provider":"Iright","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
