Its downregulation has been linked to enhanced tumor growth and invasiveness in lung and breast cancers, respectively (9,10). Conversely, elevated NMI expression in glioblastoma correlates with poor prognosis, suggesting that NMI's role in cancer is tumor-dependent (11).
