Furthermore, the DNA topoisomerase I inhibitor topotecan binds to RPL15 and suppresses preribosomal subunit formation, which causes ribosomal stress and enhances DNA topoisomerase I-independent antitumor immune activation mediated by damage-associated molecular patterns (2). In addition, RPL15 expression is upregulated in colon cancer cells.
