Furthermore, hnRNP U has been shown to bind chromatin to help regulate its structure during interphase (5). During prophase, hnRNP U becomes phosphorylated by Aurora-B, which evicts hnRNP U and the chromatin-associated RNAs bound to it, a process critical to proper chromosome alignment (6,7). hnRNP U plays a role in the chromatin localization of Xist RNA, and loss of hnRNP U in ES cells fail to achieve an inactivated X chromosome (8). hnRNP U has also been shown to play a key role in immunity, functioning as a viral dsRNA sensor. Upon viral recognition, hnRNP U oligomerizes and activates numerous antiviral genes, including IFNB1 (9). Loss of function variants of hnRNP U have been shown to cause early onset epilepsy and intellectual disorders (10,11).\n\u003cb\u003eAlternate Names\u003c\/b\u003e\nC1orf199; EIEE54; GRIP120; Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U; heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U (scaffold attachment factor A); hnRNP U; hnRNP U protein; HNRNPU; HNRNPU antisense RNA 1; HNRNPU-AS1; HNRPU; Nuclear p120 ribonucleoprotein; p120; p120 nuclear protein; pp120; SAF-A; SAFA; Scaffold attachment factor A; Scaffold-attachment factor A; U21.1\n\n\u003cb\u003eSpecification\u003c\/b\u003e\n\nREACTIVITY: H M R Mk\nSENSITIVITY: Endogenous\nMW (kDa): 125\nSource\/Isotype: Rabbit IgG","brand":"CST","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46799416000681,"sku":"34095T","price":0.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/iright.com\/products\/cst-34095t","provider":"Iright","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
