The phosphorylation of NYAP1 directly contributes to normal neuronal migration and morphogenesis of neurons, acting downstream of Fyn, which is a non-receptor protein-tyrosine kinase that is a member of the Src kinase family (2). The overexpression of NYAP1 promotes neurite branching and elongation at early neuronal migration compared to the NYAP1-KO model.
