Research studies have shown that mutations in α-synuclein, Parkin, and DJ-1 are linked to PD (1). α-synuclein is a major component of the aggregates found in Lewy bodies. Parkin is involved in protein degradation through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, and investigators have shown that mutations in Parkin cause early onset of PD (1). Loss-of-function mutations in DJ-1 cause early onset of PD, but DJ-1 is associated with multiple functions: it cooperates with Ras to increase cell transformation, it positively regulates transcription of the androgen receptor, and it may function as an indicator of oxidative stress (2-5). Dopamine D2 receptor-mediated functions are greatly impaired in DJ-1 (-\/-) mice, resulting in reduced long-term depression (6).\n\u003cb\u003eAlternate Names\u003c\/b\u003e\nDJ-1; DJ1; epididymis secretory sperm binding protein Li 67p; FLJ27376; FLJ34360; FLJ92274; GATD2; HEL-S-67p; Maillard deglycase; Oncogene DJ1; PARK7; Parkinson disease (autosomal recessive, early onset) 7; Parkinson disease protein 7; parkinson protein 7; Parkinsonism associated deglycase; Parkinsonism-associated deglycase; protein deglycase DJ-1; Protein DJ-1; Protein\/nucleic acid deglycase DJ-1\n\n\u003cb\u003eSpecification\u003c\/b\u003e\n\nREACTIVITY: H M R Mk\nSENSITIVITY: Endogenous\nMW (kDa): 22\nSource\/Isotype: Mouse IgG3","brand":"CST","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46799432286377,"sku":"35743S","price":0.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/iright.com\/products\/cst-35743s","provider":"Iright","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
