This antibody detects multiple isoforms of RBM9.
Species Reactivity: Human, Monkey
Source / Purification
Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala77 of human RBM9 protein.
Background
RBM9, also known as RBFOX2, is an RNA-binding protein involved in the regulation of tissue specific alternative splicing (1). RBM9 is widely expressed in many tissues throughout various developmental stages. Several isoforms of this protein are generated by variable use of multiple alternatively spliced internal exons and alternative splice sites (2-4). RBM9 is predominantly localized in the nucleus, where it regulates alternative pre-mRNA splicing. This factor was also identified to be a novel constituent of cytoplasmic stress granules (SGs), and its RNA binding activity is necessary for its localization into SGs (5). Notably, RBM9 dissociation from SGs suppresses cancer progression (6). The splicing-regulatory role of RBM9 has also been implicated as a tumor suppressor in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA) and could serve as a therapeutic approach for metastatic PDA (7).
Alternate Names
dJ106I20.3; Fox-1 homolog B; fox-1 homologue; Fox-2; FOX2; fxh; hexaribonucleotide binding protein 2; Hexaribonucleotide-binding protein 2; HNRBP2; HRNBP2; RBFOX2; RBM9; Repressor of tamoxifen transcriptional activity; RFOX2; RNA binding fox-1 homolog 2; RNA binding motif protein 9; RNA binding protein fox-1 homolog 2; RNA binding protein, fox-1 homolog 2; RNA-binding motif protein 9; RNA-binding protein 9; RTA

Specification

REACTIVITY: H Mk
SENSITIVITY: Endogenous
MW (kDa): 50, 60
Source/Isotype: Rabbit IgG
