The branched-chain α-keto acid dehydrogenase complex (BCKDH) catalyzes the rate-limiting step in the BCAA degradation pathway (2,3). Branched-chain α-keto acid decarboxylase (BCKDH-E1) is one of three enzymatic components in this complex (3). The α subunit of BCKDH-E1 (BCKDH-E1α) is critical for the regulation of BCKDH. Phosphorylation of BCKDH-E1α was shown to play a key role in regulating the enzymatic activity of this complex (3-5). Phosphorylation of BCKDH-E1α at Ser293 inactivates BCKDH (3,4). A significant elevation in plasma BCAA levels was reported to correlate with increased phosphorylation of BCKDH-E1α at Ser293 and suppressed BCKDH activity in the liver of diabetic mice (5).\n\u003cb\u003eAlternate Names\u003c\/b\u003e\n2-oxoisovalerate dehydrogenase (lipoamide); 2-oxoisovalerate dehydrogenase subunit alpha, mitochondrial; BCKDE1A; BCKDH E1-alpha; BCKDHA; branched chain keto acid dehydrogenase E1 alpha protein; branched chain keto acid dehydrogenase E1 subunit alpha; branched chain keto acid dehydrogenase E1, alpha polypeptide; Branched-chain alpha-keto acid dehydrogenase E1 component alpha chain; FLJ45695; MSU; MSUD1; ODBA; OVD1A\n\n\u003cb\u003eSpecification\u003c\/b\u003e\n\nREACTIVITY: H M R Mk\nSENSITIVITY: Endogenous\nMW (kDa): 49\nSource\/Isotype: Rabbit IgG","brand":"CST","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46799477276841,"sku":"40368S","price":0.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/iright.com\/products\/cst-40368s","provider":"Iright","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
