Each member of the Neurexin family undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in α- and β-forms of Neurexin. α-neurexins contain six laminin\/neurexin\/sex (LNS)-hormone-binding globulin domains. β-neurexins are transcribed from an internal promoter of their respective genes.
