TRPS1 recognizes GATA sequences and represses the activation potential of other GATA factors (5). By repressing STAT3 expression, TRPS1 regulates chondrocyte proliferation and survival (6,7). TRPS1 also can increase the activity of HDAC1 and HDAC4 during mitosis to promote histone deacetylation (8).
