Its primary function is the reversible and competitive inhibition of cysteine proteases, particularly lysosomal cathepsins (e.g., cathepsin B, H, and L). This inhibitory action is crucial for regulating cellular protein turnover, tissue remodeling, and maintaining cellular homeostasis (1). Our understanding of the role that cystatin-A plays in disease is incomplete. Cystatin-A is reported to be upregulated in several solid tumors, and elevated expression has been associated with enhanced cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and poor prognosis (2-4), suggesting that it might act as an oncogenic driver. However, some studies reporting decreased cystatin-A expression suggest it may play a protective role in certain tumor types (5,6).\n\u003cb\u003eAlternate Names\u003c\/b\u003e\nAREI; CSTA; cystatin A; cystatin A (stefin A); cystatin AS; Cystatin-A; Cystatin-A, N-terminally processed; Cystatin-AS; CYTA; PSS4; stefin A; Stefin-A; STF1; STFA\n\n\u003cb\u003eSpecification\u003c\/b\u003e\n\nREACTIVITY: H\nSENSITIVITY: Endogenous\nMW (kDa): 11\nSource\/Isotype: Rabbit IgG","brand":"CST","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46799893659817,"sku":"75912T","price":0.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/iright.com\/products\/cst-75912t","provider":"Iright","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
