This antibody has been validated using SimpleChIP ® Enzymatic Chromatin IP Kits.
Western Blotting: 1:1000
Chromatin IP: 1:100
Storage
Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.
Protocol
Available protocols: Western Blotting, Chromatin IP
Specificity / Sensitivity
ING5 (F7J4V) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total ING5 protein. This antibody does not cross-react with ING4 protein. This antibody detects bands of unknown origin between 80 and 160 kDa.
Species Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey
Source / Purification
Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro223 of human ING5 protein.
Background
Inhibitor of growth 5 (ING5) is a member of an evolutionarily conserved family of tumor suppressor proteins and transcription regulators, which contain a conserved PHD domain (1,2). This protein family has been implicated in inhibition of cellular growth and is differentially expressed in cancer (3). ING5 associates with complexes containing HBO1 or H3-specific MOZ histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and is critical to histone acetylation associated with DNA replication during S-phase (4). ING5 associates with the TIP60 acetyltransferase to acetylate Lys120 of p53, promoting apoptosis (5). ING5 is phosphorylated on Thr152 by CDK2 in a cell cycle-dependent manner, and can also control apoptosis in a p53-independent manner (6). ING5 has been shown to be a positive prognostic marker in various cancer types (7-9).
Alternate Names
FLJ23842; ING5; inhibitor of growth family member 5; inhibitor of growth family, member 5; Inhibitor of growth protein 5; p28ING5

Specification

REACTIVITY: H M R Mk
SENSITIVITY: Endogenous
MW (kDa): 28
Source/Isotype: Rabbit IgG
