NDRG1 was originally identified as a protein that was upregulated in N-Myc knockout mice (1). Proteins in the NDRG family, particularly NDRG1 and NDRG2, have been reported to be down-regulated in various cancer tissues and have been suggested to function as a tumor suppressors (4,5). Unlike other members of the family that are widely expressed, NDRG4\/Bdm1 expression is restricted primarily to the heart and brain (2,3,6,7). Multiple alternatively spliced isoforms of NDRG4 have been reported (3,7). Expression of NDRG4 is reduced in the brain of patients with Alzheimer's disease (3). In contrast, NDRG4 expression is elevated in glioblastoma and contributes to cell cycle progression and survival (8). NDRG4 also may be inactivated by promotor methylation in colorectal cancer and function as a tumor suppressor gene (9).\n\u003cb\u003eAlternate Names\u003c\/b\u003e\nBDM1; Brain development-related molecule 1; DKFZp686I1615; FLJ30586; FLJ42011; KIAA1180; MGC19632; N-myc downstream-regulated gene 4 protein; NDRG family member 4; NDRG4; Protein NDRG4; SMAP-8; SMAP8; smooth muscle-associated protein 8; Vascular smooth muscle cell-associated protein 8\n\n\u003cb\u003eSpecification\u003c\/b\u003e\n\nREACTIVITY: H M R\nSENSITIVITY: Endogenous\nMW (kDa): 37-45\nSource\/Isotype: Rabbit IgG","brand":"CST","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46799997567145,"sku":"9039T","price":0.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/iright.com\/products\/cst-9039t","provider":"Iright","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
