ABT-737 binds to these anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family members and inhibits their interaction with pro-apoptotic BH3-domain proteins, leading to Bax-Bak mediated apoptosis. ABT-737 has cytotoxic activity in multiple cancer types, including small-cell lung cancer and lymphoid malignancies (2,3).
