Two homologs of S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase-like proteins, dAhcyL1 and dAhcyL2, were identified as novel components of methionine metabolism (2) dAhcyL1 and dAhcyL2 function as dominant-negative regulators of S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase (2). Global down-regulation of both dAhcyL1 and dAhcyL2 extended life span (2). In addition, brain-specific down regulation of dAhcyL1 extended life span (2). AHCYL1 is also known as inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor (IP R) binding protein released with IP (IRBIT) (1, 3). This protein binds to the endoplasmic reticulum calcium release channel IP R and represses its acitivity (1, 3). As a multifunctional regulator, AHCYL1\/IRBIT can also form a complex with and suppress the activity of ribonucleotide reductase, thereby influencing the balance of deoxynucleotide triphosphates essential for DNA replication and genomic integrity (4).\n\u003cb\u003eAlternate Names\u003c\/b\u003e\nadenosylhomocysteinase 2; adenosylhomocysteinase like 1; adenosylhomocysteinase-like 1; AdoHcyase 2; AHCYL1; DC-expressed AHCY-like molecule; DCAL; dendritic cell expressed AHCY-like protein; epididymis secretory sperm binding protein; inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor-binding protein; IP(3)Rs binding protein released with IP(3); IRBIT; PPP1R78; PRO0233; protein phosphatase 1, regulatory subunit 78; Putative adenosylhomocysteinase 2; S-adenosyl homocysteine hydrolase homolog; S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine hydrolase 2; S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase-like 1; S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase-like protein 1; SAHH2; XPVKONA\n\n\u003cb\u003eSpecification\u003c\/b\u003e\n\nREACTIVITY: H M R Mk\nSENSITIVITY: Endogenous\nMW (kDa): 61\nSource\/Isotype: Rabbit IgG","brand":"CST","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46800033644713,"sku":"94248T","price":0.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/iright.com\/products\/cst-94248t","provider":"Iright","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
