An E3 ubiquitin ligase, TRIM37 is responsible for the monoubiquitination of histone H2A at Lys119, and is amplified in over 40% of breast cancers (2,3). TRIM37 interacts with polycomb group proteins EZH2 and SUZ12, and contributes to histone H3K27 lysine tri-methylation and subsequent silencing of tumor suppressor genes (3).
