Cyclon\/CCDC86 regulates the apoptosis of T-cells upon activation, a process known as an activationinduced cellular death (AICD), by regulating the expression of the death receptor Fas on T-cells (PMID: 23439384). CCDC86 depletion led to a novel phenotype in which Ki-67 and nucleolin could still accumulate at the chromosome periphery but also formed abnormal cytoplasmic NDF-like foci (PMID: 36695333).
