Upon excitation at 320 or 340 nm, energy can be transferred from the donor Europium chelate to the acceptor fluorophore if sufficiently close for FRET (~10 nm). This results in the emission of light at 665 nm.\u003cbr\u003e\nInterferon-λ2 (IFN-λ2), also know an IL28A is a cytokine encoded by the IL28 gene and is closely related to IL28B (IFN-λ3) and IL29(IFN-λ1). IFN-λ2 and IFN-λ3 are 96% homologous and their functional differences are still unknown. IFN-λ2 plays a critical role in adaptive immune responses and regulates CD8+ T cell functions during vaccination. Clinically, it is involved in the protection from H1N1 viral infection and it can be used for predicting response to hepatitis C treatment with interferon and ribavirin.
