The Sigma Centrifuge 4-16S and refrigerated Centrifuge 4-16KS are designed for use with all QIAGEN spin products – from small- and large-scale columns to 96-well plates. They provide streamlined, efficient processing in QIAGEN purification procedures and enable purification of nucleic acids from up to 192 samples in parallel.

Principle

Proven technology with improved performance

The Centrifuge 4-16S and Centrifuge 4-16KS combine the convenience and reliability that laboratories have come to rely on. An easy-to-use control panel simplifies programming, and 60 acceleration and deceleration curves are preinstalled. Up to 60 programs can be entered and stored by the user. The TFT display provides high contrast and readability, with all settings on one screen. In addition, programs and parameters can easily be code-protected (e.g., for regulated environments). Temperature-controlled centrifugation with the Centrifuge 4-16KS assures safe purification of your valuable samples and allows for cooling down to –20°C.

All QIAGEN spin protocols can be used with the Centrifuge 4-16S and Centrifuge 4-16KS without modification. The Plate Rotor 2 x 96 enables 96-well processing of up to two QIAGEN 96-well plates. The specifications of the plate rotor include: maximum speed, 6000 rpm; maximum centrifugal force, 5788 x g; height, 70 mm; weight, 2.2 kg; and bucket weight, 0.7 kg.

A wide range of fixed-angle and swing-out rotors is available from Sigma Laborzentrifugen GmbH for centrifugation of 5 ml, 15 ml and 50 ml tubes, as well as 1.5 ml and 2 ml microcentrifuge tubes.
