What Is The Average Timeframe It Takes To Change A Column? Swapping columns is a valuable technique for method development in HPLC, providing the flexibility to switch columns as required. To prevent the presence of air at the column entrance, it is advisable to slowly introduce solvent from the injector outlet line into the inlet fitting of the column. For effective re-equilibration of the column, we recommend flushing it with a minimum of six column volumes of the new solvent before injecting a sample. The initial injection should be disregarded since subsequent injections, starting from the second or third, typically exhibit reproducibility.
