Dexamethasone Fluorescein The synthetic steroid hormone dexamethasone binds to the glucocorticoid receptor, producing a steroid-receptor complex that then localizes in the nucleus and regulates gene transcription. The green fluorescent analog,fluorescein dexamethasoneshould be useful for studying the mechanism of glucocorticoid receptor activation, although at a slower rate than unmodified dexamethasone.
For stock concentrations up to 1 mM, DMF or aqueous buffers above pH 6 are recommended as diluent. Stock solutions can be stored as single-use aliquots, protected from light at -20°C.
