Other uses include refrigerator liners, medical devices and small household appliances. It is used as a precursor for the preparation of styrene-butadiene rubber, styrene-butadiene latex, styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS), styrene-divinylbenzene (S-DVB) and styrene-acrylonitrile resin (SAN), which are used in rubber, plastic, insulation, fiberglass, pipes, automobile and boat parts, food containers and carpet backing.
