With symmetrical peaks, SunFire columns provide symmetrical peaks for improving resolution and quantitation of acidic, neutral, and basic compounds at low and intermediate pH ranges. With low pH stability superior to many other silica-based HPLC column brands, column lifetime is improved and can be further extended using a SunFire C8 VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk . Compatible with mass spectrometry applications, SunFire C8 Columns provide sharp peaks, excellent sensitivity, high peak capacity, and ultra-low bleed. How Should I Store A SunFire C8 Column? For periods longer than four days at room temperature, store columns in 100% acetonitrile at room temperature. In elevated temperature applications, store immediately after use in 100% acetonitrile for optimal column lifetime. Do not store columns in buffered eluents.
If your mobile phase contained a buffer salt, flush the column with 10 column volumes of HPLC grade water and replace with 100% acetonitrile for storage. Failure to perform this intermediate step could result in precipitation of the buffer salt in the column when 100% acetonitrile is introduced.
