Product Description

The ACQUITY UPLC Protein BEH C4, 300 Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm x 50 mm column is QC tested and optimized to separate proteins based on size, hydrophobicity and isoelectric point. If you compare to traditional C18 phases, the C4 ligand is less retentive and will minimize protein carryover, increase protein recovery, and improve peak capacity.

How does the ACQUITY UPLC Protein BEH C4 Column handle the separation of hydrophobic peptides? The C4 bonded phase offers an optimal balance of hydrophobicity and accessibility, enabling the effective separation of hydrophobic peptides while minimizing issues like adsorption and peak tailing. What are the best practices for maintaining the ACQUITY UPLC Protein BEH C4 Column? To maintain the ACQUITY UPLC Protein BEH C4 Column, users should utilize appropriate washing protocols to remove retained substances and follow the manufacturer's guidelines for proper storage.

FAQ
What Is Protein Separation Technology? When analyzing and characterizing protein samples, it can be important to detect small chemical differences between large molecules. In the past, reversed-phase HPLC has not been used often in these tests due to the broad and asymmetrical peaks often seen during protein separation. By using the ethylene bridged hybrid (BEH) particle, Waters has been able to create Protein Separation Technology that is designed specifically for high resolution of protein analysis. Traditional performance limitations are overcome using a combination of the BEH particle, short-chain bonded phases, and wide pores, leading to minimal secondary interactions, long column lifetime, and minimal carryover with maximum recovery.
