Choose molecular biology grade Chelex 100, a weak cation exchange resin, for DNA or RNA preparation for downstream detection by methods such as PCR, RT-qPCR, RT-ddPCR or LAMP.
• High degree of selectivity for divalent over monovalent ions (ca. 5,000 to 1)
• Strong attraction for transition metals, even in highly concentrated salt solutions
• Limits activity of enzymes, including metallo-nucleases, that require divalent cations for activity
• Enables fast, easy and cost-effective method for nucleic acid preparations from many sample types including cell cultures, blood or tissues
