The Solus NanoFast™ Listeria is a lateral flow system designed to yield either a negative or a presumptive positive result following a single enrichment step, achieving results within 23 hours for environmental samples and 27-29 hours for food samples (including read and enrichment time). This sensitive non-visual system requires the use of a NanoFast™ reader for result interpretation and boasts a sensitivity that is 10 to 100 times greater than that of traditional lateral flow tests. The Solus NanoFast™ Listeria is intended for next-day detection of Listeria spp. in food and production environment samples. Each lateral flow test strip is equipped with antibodies that specifically target Listeria spp. and is contained within a plastic cassette. This cassette features an opening for sample loading, and detection is facilitated by a reader that measures the excitation light output from a detector molecule linked to an antibody.

The testing process involves adding 100µl of heat-treated sample to the sample well of the test device and allowing it to incubate for 30 minutes at room temperature. Before reading the results, the test device is simply placed onto the cassette tray of the instrument and the sample number is entered manually before it enters the reader. The test results will then be displayed on the instrument's screen after 45 secs. Results are shown with sample number along with a positive, negative or invalid outcome. In invalid outcome is only shown if the control line is negative.
