OLR1/LOX1 is predominantly expressed in endothelial cells and vascular-rich organs such as the placenta, lung, liver, and brain (PMID: 9828121). Mouse OLR1/LOX1 is type II transmembrane protein containing 363 amino acids and has a cytoplasmic N-terminus and an extracellular C-terminus comprising the neck domain and the ligand-binding domain (CTLD) (PMID: 9588202). The molecular mass of mouse OLR1/LOX-1 at 65-70 kDa may be a fully glycosylated form, which is reduced to approximately 37 kDa after treatment with the deglycosylase PNGase.
