The CELF3 protein also known as CUGBP Elav-like family member 3 belongs to the CELF family of RNA-binding proteins. With a molecular weight of approximately 55 kDa CELF3 localizes mainly in the brain and nervous tissue. It functions by binding to RNA which affects the stability and translation of the RNA molecules.
