FLG2 also known as Filaggrin-2 is a protein involved in skin barrier function. It weighs approximately 248 kilodaltons and expresses mainly in the epidermis particularly in the stratum corneum. Its structure includes several repeat units similar in domain composition to the filaggrin protein which indicates its important roles in epidermal differentiation and hydration.
