The NRAP protein also known as Nebulin-Related Anchoring Protein serves as an essential component of muscle sarcomeres. It functions mechanically by anchoring nebulin filaments to the sarcomeric Z-lines contributing to the integrity of muscle fiber structure. The molecular weight of NRAP is approximately 197 kDa. This protein expresses highly in skeletal and cardiac muscles playing an important role in maintaining muscle architecture and function in these tissues.
