TIP49A also known as RUVBL1 or Pontin is a 54 kDa protein that plays a mechanical role in various cellular processes. TIP49A functions as an ATPase with a part in the regulation of the chromatin structure and remodeling. It is expressed in the nucleus and cytoplasm of many cell types indicating its broad involvement in cellular activities.
