ANKRD1 also known as Ankyrin Repeat Domain 1 or CARP (Cardiac Ankyrin Repeat Protein) is a protein with a molecular weight of approximately 39 kDa. It is involved in cellular mechanics and is widely expressed in heart skeletal muscle and kidney tissues. ANKRD1 functions as a nuclear transcription factor and also binds to other cytoskeletal proteins influencing structural organization and cellular dynamics. Its presence is significant in muscle cells where it participates in responding to mechanical stress.
