The 5HT2A receptor also known as 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2A is a G-protein coupled receptor with a molecular mass of approximately 52 kDa. It is one of the key receptors for serotonin (5-HT) and is chiefly expressed in the central nervous system including regions like the cortex and the basal ganglia.
