OSBPL9 also referred to as oxysterol-binding protein-like 9 is a member of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP)-related protein family. This protein family involves intracellular lipid transport. OSBPL9 has a molecular weight of approximately 89 kDa. It is expressed in various tissues with high levels in brain pancreas and intestine. The protein possesses a pleckstrin homology domain and a conserved OSBP-related domain which play roles in binding to lipids and facilitating their transport within cells.
