MRPS27 also known as Mitochondrial Ribosomal Protein S27 is a protein that plays an essential role in the mitochondrial translation machinery. It is a component of the small mitochondrial ribosomal subunit. MRPS27 has a molecular mass of approximately 23 kDa. This protein is encoded by nuclear DNA and expressed in various tissues with higher levels in tissues having high energy demands like muscle and brain tissues.
