UBASH3A also known as suppressor of T-cell receptor signaling 1 (STS-1) is a protein involved in regulating T-cell signaling. It has a molecular mass of approximately 67 kDa. UBASH3A is expressed mainly in lymphoid tissues including the thymus and spleen. The protein contains a Src homology 3 (SH3) domain and a ubiquitin-associated (UBA) domain which are important for its interactions with other proteins and its function in cellular signaling processes.
Biological function summary
UBASH3A plays an important role in modulating immune responses. It regulates T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling by acting as a negative regulator ensuring proper immune tolerance and preventing overstimulation of immune responses.
